Does a person have to be under a certain weight to be considered for bariatric bypass surgery (for weight reduction)? One hospital did say 450 lbs. was the maximum a patient could be.
Still, I've seen where folks alot heavier have it done, so wondered if it's specific to the overall health of the patient or the doctor or the hospital or all of these? Does anyone know the guidelines? A family member is considering having it done.
